Our Purpose

Create data solutions for an inclusive workforce

Our organisation centres on the societal need to digitise for diversity. Spatial analytics is a forward looking industry and we believe neurodiverse people should not only be a part of the digital ecosystem, but can use distinct cognitive talents to excel as digital professionals.

Achieving actionable insights and social good.

Australian Spatial Analytics is a registered not-for profit social enterprise dedicated to training and employing remarkable young spatial analysts with autism, who bring their exceptional abilities to the field of data analytics.

Specialising in spatial analytics, neurodiversity is our advantage — our team are simply faster and more precise at data processing.

Not only do we provide a benefit to the Australian economy and diversity to employment, we rapidly and accurately turn big data into valuable, actionable insights.

Why choose us?

Keep spatial data services onshore.

Much of Australia’s data extraction and analytic services are performed offshore. We provide an alternative solution that enables local outsourcing of data services, whilst managing sovereign and supply-chain risk.

Transform data and people.

Our unique model and talented workforce provide you with an effective way to achieve social procurement objectives and foster inclusive workplace environments.

Experience better service.

Free from call centres, time zones, communication latencies and international management overheads, we offer you an accessible, scalable, on-demand customer experience.

Let's connect.

If you’d like to partner with a great social enterprise, or take advantage of our spatial data services, let’s get started.

Transforming data with people and people with data.

Australian Spatial Analytics is built around the intellectual strengths of its staff. Our team are working to change the perception that social enterprises are synonymous with a low-skilled labour workforce providing low-margin services.

Young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be up to 40% faster at tasks requiring visual problem solving and pattern detection skills, but they may have difficulty interpreting non-verbal social cues and require support developing communication skills — barriers that make it difficult to perform well in a work interview scenario. Despite having dominant strengths and sought-after capabilities, only 15% of working-age adults with ASD are in full-time paid employment — even though they’re fast and accurate at analysing information, they can have difficulty getting that first or second job. We harness their unique skills by training them to assess spatial information.

Life-changing employment.

The key purpose of Australian Spatial Analytics is to enable life-changing employment for people on the Autism Spectrum, with the aim of creating 50+ permanent jobs by the end of 2022.

Employing and training junior and senior spatial analysts on a permanent basis, our employees develop skills that enable further integration into the mainstream jobs market, through integrated training and development. We have a People and Pathways team dedicated to providing timely wrap-around supports for our analysts.

A valuable and timely service.

Our organisation’s core services lie firmly in a growth sector — Information, Communication and Technology. Providing skilled employment and training in the technology sector improves the social, economic and educational lives of our staff and delivers a valuable and timely service to industry and government.

Additional benefits of our social enterprise include: positive family dynamics and growth through engagement in meaningful employment; increased social inclusion of people from the ASD community through workforce participation; and, independent living achieved through long-term employment.

Changing the role of autism in employment.

  • Over 85% of Australia’s data extraction and analytic services currently goes off-shore.
  • Only 15% of working-age Australians affected by autism are in full-time employment — over 100,000 talented individuals on the spectrum are likely to remain unemployed for much of their lives.
  • The majority of staff at Australian Spatial Analytics have been assessed as being in the top 3% of the population in areas such as spatial problem solving and pattern recognition, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Australian Spatial Analytics is committed to contributing $7.5 million dollars back into the Australian economy by the third year of operation.
